Congratulations to Jon Wreschinsky for being named a 2021 Man of Influence by SD Metro.
Jon Wreschinsky (PLA, ASLA) is a Facilities Planner with the San Diego Unified School District. His responsibilities include tracking the facility use of the District’s 220+ sites, maintaining data and performing statistical analyses related to facilities inventory and utilization and school enrollment capacities.
He has a BA of Science, Geography, from UC Riverside, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Cal State Poly University, Pomona, with a Specialized Certificate in Sustainable Business Practices from UCSD Extension.
Jon is the current Committee Chair of the California Architects Board—Landscape Architects Technical Committee. He is the present and past member of the American Society of Landscape Architects Public Practice Advisory, Policy, Licensure, and Government Affairs Committees. Past-President of the San Diego and Northern California Chapters of ASLA.
As San Diego Chapter President, he designed and implemented a Chapter Strategic Planning process to align the chapter’s educational and advocacy activities with chapter resources. Past- President of the California Council, ASLA—as CCASLA President, he helped successfully defend
professional licensure of landscape architects in California.
He received the ASLA Advocacy Leadership Award in 2016, commemorated for his dedication to advocating for the profession of Landscape Architecture and professional licensure.
