The San Diego Chapter of the American Society Landscape Architects is conducting the 2014 Design Awards Program to recognize professional excellence for outstanding works of landscape architecture and environmental planning.
“The ASLA design awards are the ultimate recognition of design achievement for firms and projects in the San Diego region. These awards celebrate the innovation and creativity found among the practitioners in San Diego County,” said program co-chair Joy Lyndes, principal landscape architect of Coastal SAGE Landscape Architecture.
Entry form and payments are due by September 12, 2014, and entry submittals are due September 26 to the San Diego Chapter office, 1050 Rosecrans St. Suite B, San Diego, CA 92106. Late submittals will not be accepted after the deadline. Submitted projects should advance, educate and promote the profession. The entry fee is $120 for ASLA members and $200 for other ASLA chapters and non-ASLA member. The entry form can be found at https://www.asla-sandiego.org.
Entries will be accepted for projects from any individual, firm, non-profit organization, public agency or academic institution as long as one of the project’s participants includes at least of the following:
- San Diego Chapter, ASLA Member and Licensed Landscape Architects in the State of California (projects at any location)
- ASLA Member and Licensed Landscape Architect in any state (San Diego County projects only)
- Non-member Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California (San Diego County projects only)
The Awards Jury members are: Bob Cardoza, FASLA, Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board NUVIS Landscape Architecture, Costa Mesa, CA; Kelly Broughton, FASLA, Director of Development Services, City of Chula Vista; Kathy Garcia, FASLA, City Planning Director, City of Del Mar; Ralph Roesling, Lecturer, Cal Poly Pomona, Principal, Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects, San Diego; Randy Hanna, AIA, Principal, Hanna Gabriel Wells Architects, San Diego. Additional jurors to be announced.

The American Society of Landscape Architects is a national professional organization, founded in 1899, representing landscape architects in private, public and academic practice. Its mission is to lead, educate and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning and artful design of our cultural and natural environments. The San Diego chapter was formed in 1976 to serve both the profession and the public on local issues dealing with the practice of landscape architecture.
