The “green” movement is hitting old-style office towers.
Outdoor spaces that were nothing much more than places to smoke are getting gardens, trellises, coffee carts and Wi-Fi — all with the hope that tenants will attract and retain younger workers seeking more than a clean cubicle and a parking space. Two examples in downtown San Diego illustrate the trend.
