The event goal is to “Enhance Social Equity and Promoting Active Public Spaces”.

The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the importance of social equity in the design of public spaces as well as to explore how active recreational areas can be improved to create more inclusive and vibrant communities. By analyzing existing examples and discussing opportunities and challenges, we can identify best practices and develop strategies that ensure these spaces effectively meet the diverse needs of the community while encouraging healthier lifestyles for all.

Meetup point: Waterfront Park Workout Area, around the DG area along the concrete seating wall.

About the workout:

  • The workout session will be a multi-level HIIT, designed to be beginner-friendly.
  • Feel free to bring a yoga mat, picnic blanket, beach chair, or any other items for your comfort.

Planned Schedule:

  • 5:00 – 5:15 pm: Meet-up and Greeting
  • 5:15 – 5:30 pm: Event Introduction
  • 5:30 – 5:50 pm: Overview of the park – Such as the location, history,  design process, installation, and maintenance
  • 5:50 – 6:00 pm: Workout space design/equipment introduction
  • 6:00 – 6:30 pm: Workout/discussion group #1
  • 6:30 – 7:00 pm: Workout/discussion group #2
