The San Diego ASLA Stewardship Committee hosted an educational Workshop to discuss Tree Re-Leaf in Urban Settings. This workshop was an in-depth look at urban forestry and its challenges. The workshop was hosted on October 9th, 2015 at Silver Gate Yacht Club on Shelter Island.
Multi-disciplinary professionals, including arborists, research professionals, city agencies, landscape architects, geotechnical engineers, landscape contractors, and students, attended and engaged with the presenting industry experts, who discussed their recent experience with sustainable tree selection, tree installation, how turf removal effects existing trees, as well as the latest research data on sustainable urban landscapes.
